Located along Malta’s northern-most coast, the 4-star Ramla Bay Resort is set in one of the Island’s most scenic locations. In fact, the Resort has unobstructed views of both the countryside and the Mediterranean Sea.
Nevertheless, the hotel is within easy reach of the pretty nearby town Mellieha, which was recently designated a European Area of Excellence. The town is particularly dynamic during the summer months, when both tourists and locals flock to enjoy the nearby Paradise Bay, Armier Bay and Mellieha Bay beaches. During the cooler months, it is especially loved for its beautiful views and unspoilt countryside, which make it a popular location for hikers, cyclists and ramblers.
Mellieha has a number of interesting and beautiful sights to explore, including:
- The Ghadira Nature Reserve;
- The Red Tower and St Agatha’s Tower, both of which were built by the Knights Of Malta in 1649 and 1647 respectively;
- The Mellieha war shelters, dug entirely by hand and spanning over 500 meters;
- The ancient Sanctuary Of Our Lady of Mellieha;
- And the Parish Church, dedicated to the Birth of Our Lady. Here, the annual festa is celebrated on 8th September.
The Resort is also located within extremely easy reach of the ferry points to Malta’s sister islands, Gozo and Comino, as well as the famous Blue Lagoon. Additionally, the nearby bus stop will take you to the many other areas of interest in Malta, including Mosta, Sliema, St Julian’s and the capital, Valletta.
