LOCATION

Where Malta Slows Down

Ramla Bay Resort sits on the Marfa peninsula in Mellieha, at the northern edge of Malta, surrounded by sea on three sides and open countryside on the fourth.

The resort spans 28,000 square metres of seafront land with uninterrupted views across the channel to Comino and Gozo.

Located approximately 50 minutes from Malta International Airport, the setting offers seclusion without isolation.

Ramla Bay Resort is a large waterfront resort in Marfa designed with clearly defined areas for adults and families.

The property includes multiple outdoor pools, a dedicated adults only pool area, natural rocky shoreline access with sea platforms, and a small sandy beach operating from May to October and managed according to environmental conditions. A range of room categories accommodates couples, families, and longer stays.

Marfa. The Right Destination for a Different Malta.

Marfa sits at the northernmost point of the island, on a peninsula shaped by sea, wind, and open land rather than urban expansion. Unlike Malta’s central coastal hubs, Marfa remains low density, largely undeveloped, and free from through traffic.

It is bordered by open countryside, protected coastline, and direct views across the channel to Comino and Gozo. The area lies close to the Gozo ferry terminal, yet removed from the commercial intensity of the central coast.

Because of its geography, Marfa experiences less congestion, fewer high-rise developments, and wider visual horizons. Light travels differently here. Evenings are quieter. The pace shifts naturally.

For guests seeking space, sea air, and perspective rather than proximity to nightlife districts, Marfa represents a deliberate choice.

Why Marfa Instead of St Julians or Sliema

St Julians and Sliema sit at the centre of Malta’s urban coastline. They offer nightlife, density, restaurants within walking distance, and a pace that continues late into the evening.

Marfa offers something else.

At the northern edge of the island, Marfa is defined by open land, low traffic, and uninterrupted sea views. There are no high-rise clusters, no through roads, and no constant city background.

Where urban Malta feels animated, Marfa feels expansive.

Where the central coast moves quickly, the northern coast slows down.

Ramla Bay Resort is positioned for guests who prefer horizon over skyline, sea air over street energy, and space over saturation.

A Landscape You Can Walk Into

Marfa is one of the few areas in Malta where the land still feels uninterrupted.

Step outside and the environment does the work for you.

Countryside paths unfold naturally around the resort. Coastal trails follow the edge of the sea. Jogging routes come with long views and very little distraction. The absence of traffic changes how the body moves and how the mind settles.

This is a place that encourages walking, not planning.

What Is Nearby

Even with the calm of Marfa, much of Malta remains close.

Mellieħa
Ten minutes away. A hilltop village with local restaurants, historic streets, and Malta’s largest sandy beach.

Mġarr
Fifteen minutes away. Known for open countryside and farm-led Maltese cooking.

Gozo
A short ferry crossing. Quieter, greener, and slower, with deep history and dramatic landscapes.

Comino and the Blue Lagoon
Just minutes by boat. Clear water, limestone coves, and wide open light.

Sea, Depth, and Discovery

Malta’s northern waters are among the most respected diving areas in Europe, and Marfa sits at the centre of it.

From the resort, divers have direct access to sites such as Ċirkewwa, known for its wrecks and marine life, as well as iconic formations like the Blue Hole and the Inland Sea. Snorkelling, kayaking, and boat excursions are part of daily life here, not special events.

The sea is not a backdrop.

It is active, present, and close.

A Place to Stay Still, or Move Freely

Ramla Bay’s location gives you choice without pressure.

You can wake early and walk as the light comes in.
You can spend hours in the water.
You can leave the resort and explore villages, or not leave at all.

Nothing here asks for urgency.

That balance is the reason many guests arrive with plans and leave having changed them.

Ramla Bay is not positioned to impress.
It is positioned to feel right.
