💧 Water Stewardship: Conserving Malta’s Scarce Resource

 

Water is the most precious and challenging resource in Malta, a nation facing high water stress despite being surrounded by the sea. Every drop counts.

Our Commitment: We use efficient water fixtures, monitor consumption across the property, and invest in technologies like reverse osmosis and greywater recycling where feasible.

How You Can Help Us Conserve:

  • Mindful Linen Use: Reusing towels and bed linens significantly reduces the water and energy required for laundering.

    • Action: If you wish to reuse your towels, please hang them up. Towels left on the floor or in the tub will be replaced.

  • Tap Discipline: Simple changes at the sink make a huge difference.

    • Action: Please turn off the taps while brushing your teeth, shaving, or soaping your hands.

  • Leak Reporting: Even a small leak can waste hundreds of liters of water per week.

    • Action: Should you notice any leaks or dripping taps in your room or public areas, please report them to our Front Desk immediately so they can be promptly repaired.

💡 Energy Efficiency: Smarter, Not Harder

 

Reducing energy consumption is central to lowering our carbon emissions. We employ smart technology and follow strict procedures to ensure energy is used only when and where it is needed.

Our Commitment: We utilize LED lighting, high-efficiency appliances, and proactive maintenance to optimize energy usage throughout the resort.

Our Smart Energy Management System (EMS) Automatically Ensures:

  • Room Vacation Sensing: Lights, air conditioning, and electronics are automatically switched off shortly after you leave your room.

  • Balcony Door Integration: The air conditioning automatically switches off when the balcony door is open, preventing energy waste.

Recommended Temperature Setting:

  • To achieve a comfortable and energy-efficient room temperature, we recommend setting your air-conditioning unit between $21^\circ \text{C}$ and $24^\circ \text{C}$ ($70^\circ \text{F}$ and $75^\circ \text{F}$).

♻️ Recycling & Waste Reduction: Minimizing Our Footprint

 

We are dedicated to diverting waste from landfills through comprehensive separation and recycling programs. We recognize that reducing waste at the source is the most impactful action we can take.

Our Commitment: We partner with local recycling facilities and train our staff to meticulously sort waste streams in back-of-house areas, including glass, cooking oil, cardboard, and batteries.

How You Can Assist in Responsible Waste Management:

  • Use Marked Bins: We have provided clearly marked, multi-stream recycling bins on every guest floor to make sorting easy.

    • Action: Please use these bins to separate your waste into the designated categories:

      • Recyclables: Clean plastic beverage bottles and cans, unsoiled paper, and clean plastic packaging.

      • Compost/Organic: Food waste and soiled paper/napkins.

      • General Waste: Non-recyclable, non-compostable items.

  • Avoid Single-Use Plastics: We are actively phasing out single-use plastics throughout the resort.

    • Action: We encourage you to use reusable water bottles (which can be refilled at designated water stations) and minimize the use of disposable items during your stay.
